Altered Vintage Record Album

This is how I altered a 12 x 10 inch vintage record album for an art journal. Prepping it with touches of color and texture helps with that sometimes daunting start.

I tore out the original record pockets about 3-4 inches from the center, using a scalloped paper edger. Strips of torn rustic muslin were sewn on the edge of each page. Tabs were repurposed from the spines of old books and sewn on.

Each of the 4 pockets had two sides. I inserted card stock measured to fit and glued both sides before using heavy twine and a large "sampler" looking backstitch.

Each page is a bit rustic and primitive....definitely not perfect. I like the results. It is ready and waiting to be filled with heart words and art.
